Looking back to the MFA 2018 Fine Art degree show.

As you walk around the show it will quickly become apparent that there isn’t a house style. Instead, these emerging artists very much own their individual practices and are clear what they each can offer the contemporary art world, be it in the UK or overseas. These graduates come from all over the world and span two generations – the MFA course’s success is rooted in this diversity.

Over the last two years, in addition to curating the degree show and its related public events, the MFA students have organised many exhibitions and set up projects together, which means that they already have a supportive professional peer network. This will serve them well beyond their graduation. I am confident that they will continue to grow, experiment and fruitfully practice in uncertainty for many years to come.
